  2. I learned this from a psychologist. He said there are many different dominance hierarchies. If someone has more education, is smarter, better looking, richer, more talented, luckier, etcetera (Silver Spoons), this elicits rage in people who have less of these good qualities (Scrappers). People who have less of these good qualities will do anything to sabotage people who have more of these good qualities. You cannot be better than your boss or HR because if you are better than them in anyway, they will not hire you for a job or they may try to figure out a way to get you terminated from your job. I personally have seen much of this in the workplace. Also HR and management is more comfortable paying a Scrapper less money, so they are a great source of cheap labor for businesses because businesses don't want to pay employees a decent wage.

  3. it is not judgmental when you have to make a judgement call, who cares what words you use as long as it was fair.

  4. I have been trying to explain this to people who are not in the job market right now. I was formerly in Corporate Human Resources for two years. Now, after a year of the pandemic and not being able to find work in my field, I am now in the position of looking like a "job hopper". Nobody looks at the continuing to do whatever it takes to keep going in the course of this year. I wish more HR directors were like this presenter.

  5. Oh, I realized something, I truly am a scrapper. I am who I am now because I had gone through a lot of adversities in life.
I am crying. Thank you, Lord for giving me a tough heart.

  6. Job hoping isn't always an indication of someone who can't settle in one job, they could've had a lot of bad luck. Introverts especially have a harder time because the job search is designed for extroverts in that you need to know people to get a job. I'd like for all hiring managers to see this video.

  7. I'm a scrapper If you are interested to read my story. , I lived poverty , extreme poverty , No one believed in me and no one invested in my success even relationships or even family. I don't blame them they are supportive but their mentality is a little bit old and poverty made it worst. they didn't believe in what I wanted or my skills, I loved to do draw since childhood I had good drawing skills, My parent would nag about how i would wast my Blue pen which all I Had. while I had a classemat who had similar level of drawing skills but his family supported him with tools took him to events and workshops, i felt bad. I didn't have a computer until high school . but I loved computers since my primary school I just didn't have access to it. and again my parents didn't like me spending so much time on computer . " wasting my life playing games ". Yeah I played games but that's not all what I was doing . but they don't understand . they would punish sometimes take my computer and I would have no access for it for days or weeks. and by the way I didn't have internet at home it costed so much. I would get about 1$ a week. I would use it go to a cofeeshop download whole websites using HTTP Tracker , if you remember it back then, and go read them at home. In the high school second year we had to choose a field to study, I wanted computer science everybody told me you are better at literature you must not choose computer science , You will fail because it requires physics and methmatics, if you are not good at mathematics you can't do computer science. And i was bad at that because I didn't the way they taught us. besides the corrupt system and teachers who would not do their best at teaching in class, they make private classes for cost and they would give good grades to the student who take part in the private classes, I didn't take part in any private classes for my entire , first I don't like it. second Our situation would allow for it without sacrificing other things. so i was the only one in my class who didn't take part in any private classes. Final year of hight school in my country is different that US, we have what is called " Baccalaureat " it is a national exam that would allow you to enter university, During the result day , No one was expecting me to succeed they didn't ever bother to ask. But I have got the SMS, and I have succeeded. later I found out i was the only one in my class. I didn't even feel happy about it. because I will be alone my friends didn't make it and they were sad. anyways when I have go to university, I have only got about 30$ a week of pocket money for food, transport , and any other expanses. I couldn't continue on that , I auit University and joined my first job experience, but nowadays I'm a video game programmer and 2D game artist working for a good Video Games company. I look back at it and I laugh sometimes at the irony of destiny . I remember once i was in mathematics class , I was not paying attention , I was drawing . the teacher looked at me and told to stop it and focus . unconceously I toke the pen again and continued drawing, the teacher looked back again and yelled at me for it . but now What they told me not to do I what I'm doing for living and I get paid for it more than what the teacher or my father would be paid for their " important things " .

  8. I am so shocked, she spoke my absolute language… with 14 years in the recruitment industry, this is my exact observation… A person who raises from scratch is a way better performer than and super glossy strategist/report maker…
