Is bad to wash your hair everyday if it’s oily

I don't get it… the way you're using dry shampoo now sounds like would have worked with the previous products you're saying had damaging and pore clogging ingredients…

Dry shampoo has ruined my hair. It's thinning like crazy in the roots especially at the front. I only wash my hair twice a week but my hair gets very oily plus I work out a lot so I was using it evey day and for YEARS! I noticed a few months ago that I had really bad breakage, split ends, hair loss and thinning at the front of my hear. I was panicking thinking I was going bald but started doing my research and turns out dry shampoo used in excess can cause hair loss. I've stopped and I'm hoping that my hair recovers!

I use dry shampoo pretty often and I've been beginning to suspect that it is causing breakage. After some research, I realized that all spray dry shampoos have denatured alcohol, which is drying, and could definitely be causing that issue. Thanks for this video. It helped me make up my mind to try a more natural option.

Dry shampoo is like alcohol hand sanitizer. It is only a substitute for washing when you don't have soap and water available. Use dry shampoo when backpacking, camping, extended travels, or 24 hour hospital shifts.

The best dry shampoo is to use dryer sheets on your roots and wrapping your hair in a 100% cotton t shirt while at home and cooking, even while working out.

Also, sorry, did you notice an increase in split ends when you started using dry shampoo too? I feel like my hair breakage has been so bad. I always attributed it to swimming in the ocean so much.

Well I only use it maybe 2 to 3 times a year. (Not single use like 2 or 3 days in row) will I be okay?🥺🥺😂 or should I just stop in all.

Ahh yes! I wondered this and hated the texture anyways! This is why I started making my own! I even add essential oils that are meant for helping hair keep its thickness! It's organic, just a few ingredients, I make it for darker hair, and my hair has never been happier/healthier! I'll be uploading that video (with recipe) in the next couple weeks!

As shifted to Australia , few months I find my hairs are growing but it stops and start falling its normal for Australian. But I agree with u dry shampoo not only causes hair fall but also causes scalp fungus…

General comment: Try to shower everyday, and eliminate the dry shampoo. if you don't want to use the shampoo use water. That might even help with having oily hair or losing / thinning of hair. If it doesn't help, then it's some chemical imbalance.

I feel the same, I started getting hair loss around my hairline and started thinking back what it is that I changed and it's dry sjampoo. I moved to a tropical island (sweating a LOT) so started using it a LOT! I think you have a point I am stopping it now

I’ve noticed that my hair has become oilier since using dry shampoo and I was searching videos about it and found yours! Gonna have to dry the natural one for sure.

I have virgin hair and my hair is thick I decided to try the dry shampoo method to not wash my hair every 3 days mostly because my hair would get very oily within the 2nd day. Furthermore I started to use it once a week for a month and started noticing my hair was thinning and I was losing it as well I don’t use other products or heat tools on my hair I just let it be I will stop using dry shampoo now.

This young lady is confused about where the crown of her head…. I hope you all take this as a suggestion and not as a good for all. Ask a professional before you stop or start changing your hair routine. Genetics as well as outside forces and good/bad habits affect hair growth and loss. She may be giving dry shampoo too much credit. Take this with a grain of salt.

I just make my own.. equal part baking powder & equal part unsweetened cocoa powder, whisk together in a bowl and use a clean big makeup brush to brush in areas needed, let sit a few minutes then brush your hair👍🏻very cheap and totally works!

Omg this is everything I’ve beeb dealing with. I’ve been using that same dry shampoo (batiste) for probably 8+ years. I’ve tried several other ones, but always fall back on old trusty. The last couple years though, I’ve been noticing SIGNIFICANT hair loss especially at my temple areas and hairline in front. So much so that I’ve been concerned it may be a symptom of a more serious health problem or something. But, the last month or two I’ve also been dealing with major dry scalp/peeling issues and that has led me to believe it may be from the dry shampoo due to the nature of its ingredients and it’s tendency to overly dry and absorb natural sebum. I have hair past my butt and it’s been terrifying watching my hairline thing (I’m only 24). Thank you for speaking up about your experience, I will definitely be trying some of the products you mentioned!!

Running around in Australia’s extreme sun with bleached hair is probably what caused a lot of the breakage, uv rays can be the death of processe hair

I think everyone has a little hair loss. I wash my hair every other day, haven’t dyed it in over a decade and I also never blow dry it or use a straighter or curler on it. I do use dry shampoo maybe once a week, and I’ve had hair loss before I ever started using it. I also switched to all natural shampoos and conditioners about 3 months ago. I loose a little hair but it’s still pretty thick.

I wash my hair either every other day or every 2 days and that has solved my dandruff and hair fall problems to a great extent…I guess keeping scalp and hair clean is the key.

Dry shampoo is so popular but I never liked it. I just don't get it. "Don't wash you hair every day to not remove natural oils. use dry shampoo to remove oils"
.. isn't this contradicting? Maybe I'm just missing something.🤔

Yessss! I was also in love immediately when I found dry shampoo years ago. And you are right, it isn't good for your hair, because the alcohols dry out your hair, and makes it a bit sticky on your scalp. That's why I also suggest brushing it through. I make a dry shampoo that is a light brown that blends with all colors and textures. (I have a friend who has red curly hair who uses is.) One thing, baking soda is not necessary 🙁 Its so harsh…and there isn't really any purpose for it in the ingredients. When you run out of that one, look for one without baking soda. The PH is just toooo low. Loved this video!

I have never used Dry Shampoo….ever. But, someone just told me about it so I bought it. I am 54 and I have been told by many people that my hair is so healthy and beautiful. My hairdresser says it's super. I don't wash my hair every day. I don't constantly brush or comb it only on wash days. I use my fingers to style and comb on off days. A secret I totally believe in is biotin. I take it everyday or if I'm having whole eggs, I will skip that day. I eat organic ones. I use 2 egg whites with one egg. Or, if my hair is stressed I do both, eggs and capsules (NOW co). This is no joke, many diets deficient in biotin results in hair loss or lack of growth. I know this is totally true because I actually make an egg everyday for my Jack Russell who's 8 years old and he has the coat of a puppy and he doesn't shed like most Jacks do. He is very youthful. Also, blow drying every single day is not good.

I will proceed with caution on the dry shampoo which I bought for vacation.

The side effects mentioned from using dry shampoo: hair follicle clogging, build up on your scalp, these things would still happen with the alternatives suggested.

THANK YOU for this video. I used to have a lot of hair and then suddenly I notice hat i had half of what i did an dmy texture changes it was like thinner i dont know, i thought it was because of a hormonal thing or coloring it (even though I've done it for years and i dont use bleach) etc I tried soo many things and stopped doing a lot of things to get my hair back having no luck, never thought about it being dry shampoo but I guess maybe it was I stopped using 5 months ago and my hair is sooo much better
